The Positive Ageing Council was set up in 2011 to help give older people a voice, share views and ideas, meet new people and join in with free social activities.
The group is open to anyone aged 60 years or over who lives, works, learns or volunteers in the borough. They meet as an open forum four times a year to discuss issues that have a real effect on the lives of older people.
The group organise social events and activities and give older people an important voice in what services and facilities are provided in Lewisham. They also like to talk about anything and everything that matters to them.
This fund is being provided by The Positive Ageing Council – with each clubs or organisation being able to get Grants of up to £400.
The focus this year will be on helping organisations acquire items they need or would find useful to benefit older members.
So the replacement of club equipment, such as an urn, cups and plates, essential fixtures and fittings, board games or other leisure equipment, craft materials can be paid for with this grant.
As well as, the cost of club promotional materials, including flyers, brochures or branded items.
Or be used to fund tutors for sessions to be held at the club, such as someone to facilitate arts or crafts sessions
As this fund can only be used for resources only, the Positive Ageing Council will not consider applications for trips, events, specific projects or for any core funding, such as paying staff or workers of the organisation.
The deadline for submitting your application is 12 noon, Monday 8 February 2016.
It is expected that this fund will be over-subscribed, so unfortunately not all applications will be successful. To apply, please complete the application form below and return by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to:
