Amity Care and Healthcare Recruitment Agency are looking recruit dedicated Nursery Assistants for one their Clients.
Job Summary
As part of a team, organises and provides care for children 0-5 years in a day nursery setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting with Child Care
- Able to work in partnerships with parents/carers
- Ability to use own initiative and take responsibility where appropriate
- To be able to work as an effective member of the staff team
- Be able to see each child as an individual and as part of a family and to respond to their needs.
Requirements:
- Current DBS Certificate*
- Valid Passport or evidence of right to work in the UK
- Contact Details of 2 Referees for the past 5 years
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
- Experience of working in a childcare setting throughout the 0-5 years range.
*If you do not already have a DBS that is less than 12 months old, we can provide DBS checks service at our office at a fee.

- Good interpersonal skills and self-motivated
- Personable, facilitating and courteous manner when dealing with people.
- A genuine interest in working with children
- Ability to undertake personal care tasks responsive to service users’ needs and choice
- Able & willing to learn quickly, & put into practice what you have learnt
- Ability to plan care to meet the needs of service users
- Understanding of appropriate boundaries in relation to customer/professional relationships.
- Ability to work in a systematic and organised manner
- Ability to work flexibly and positively with other disciplines including health, social work and transport etc.
- Local Authority day nursery experience desirable but not essential.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of children’s developmental needs from 0-5 years
- Understanding of Child Protection and relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of social diversity and equal opportunities and the ability to demonstrate this throughout all aspects of practice
- The ability to work in partnership with parents/carers
- Ability to communicate effectively and fluently using appropriate style both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use own initiative and take responsibility where appropriate
- To be able to work as an effective member of the staff team
- The ability to see each child as an individual and as part of a family and to respond to their needs.
- Able to demonstrate excellent childcare practice
