Match Preview | Millwall v Leicester City

FA Cup 5th Round | At the Den | Saturday, 18 February 2017 | Kickoff 15.00 hrs

This Saturday, the Lions play their biggest FA Cup game since 2004, when we take on the Champions of England, Leicester City.

We have already beaten two premier league sides in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Albeit on both occasions, the managers of Bournemouth & Watford played 2nd stringers. And we can only play what is put in front of us.

Foxes’ Boss, Claudio Ranieri, should be worried due to the collapse of their League form. As they have not won in six games, having not scored a single goal, and have slid down the league table at an alarming speed! As they are currently 4th from bottom with only 1 point more than the 3rd from the bottom.

If the unthinkable was to happen that the League Champions from the previous season get relegated then that would be the first time that has happened in over 80 years.

Leicester were well beaten in their last League outing by Swansea and on Tuesday, after we play them, they are playing in the Champions League again.

Ranieri has stated in a press conference that the FA Cup and Champions League are not important, as only Premier League survival matters. I reckon that Ranieri will play a 2nd string team on Saturday probably the same team that started against Derby in their 4th round. replay.

The game is a sell-out at The Den! The Foxes are beatable, provided we play with the same commitment that we played in the previous 2 rounds. They will not look forward to coming to The Den, where the crowd will give them grief from the moment we kick off. Neil Harris at the time of writing this has only two injury concerns, Gregory & Thompson.
