At its February group meeting attended by Lewisham Green Party’s candidate for the Greater London Authority (GLA) and other senior members of Lewisham Green Party, Lewisham People Before Profit agreed to endorse and support the Green Party in the GLA elections.
Lewisham People Before Profit is non-sectarian and has a long and proud record of seeking to work with others opposed to the Austerity agenda for the common good.
In the coming GLA elections it has never been more important that we elect anti-Austerity candidates and whilst Jeremy Corbyn himself may share the People Before Profit policy agenda, the bitter reality for most Londoners is that Labour Councils in London are rushing through the Tory’s ideologically-driven cuts against Labour’s elected mandate, and against the best interests of the people they are elected to serve.
Lewisham People Before Profit believe that in the GLA elections only the Green Party has the reach, the organisation, and the possibility of winning seats in May. We call on others to join us in creating a broad anti-Austerity alliance for ALL elections.
